The compact ME 806 amplifies Musikelectronic Geithain’s 800 Line product range. The two-way concept comprises an 8-inch woofer system and a tweeter array of three vertically arranged 1-inch tweeter calottes. The directivity index of the system has been optimised to listening distances between 2.5 and 4 metres, providing a natural sound image in stereo and multi-channel operation. The bass reflex system, designed to deliver optimal transient fidelity, ensures a precise and dry bass reproduction down to a threshold frequency of 38 Hz. Thanks to the powerful integrated analogue amplifiers and the high system sensitiveness, this loudspeaker combines flawless homogeneity with a dynamic range that is unrivalled in a two-way system. The result is that non-linear distortions stay extremely low even at high reproducing levels. Moreover, the loudspeaker features group delay time optimisation.
The power amplifier module with electronic crossover is integrated into the rear wall of the cabinet. An intermittent LED signalises overmodulation. If the maximum level is exceeded, the output level will be attenuated by 20 dB in order to protect the components from overloading. A room compensation network, integrated into the amplifier electronics, allows to influence the room-related frequency response within two continuously variable frequency bands.
Frequently used wave guides in front of tweeter systems make directivity control easy; however they tend to produce unavoidable discolorations caused by short-time reflections at the inner horn surface. Musikelectronic Geithain breaks the mould by using a tweeter array and doing without systems with horn attachments for sound level boost. The tweeter unit that is arranged coaxially in front of the midrange system guarantees the trademark low-coloration rendition of music and speech and creates the sound event closeness desired by the listener.
Summing up all the constructive measures, the ME 806 achieves seamless sound compatibility with all other products made in the Geithain manufacture. The highly neutral tone quality, excellent spatial performance and depth arrangement, together with fatigue-free monitoring of even most complex sound events are typical ME Geithain characteristics of this loudspeaker.
The compact ME806 is available with an optional monitor stand. With or without stand, this loudspeaker will harmonise perfectly with your listening room due to its attractive design and the large variety of different wood veneers or high-gloss or semi-matt varnish surfaces.
